The OS/RX 28 October Preview is set to release by the end of the month, shipping with many much needed changes and improvements over the June Beta:

Linux 6.12

As announced in a previous article, OS/RX 28 will not be shipping with Linux or Liquorix 7.0 due to several critical hardware modules not being able to be rebuilt by DKMS. As such the default kernel that ships with the OS/RX 28 October Preview will be Linux 6.12.

Switch from LibreOffice to ArtCraft

Given the similarity to Microsoft Office's UI and the overwhelming performance and responsiveness of ArtCraft over LibreOffice the decision has been made that the release version of OS/RX 28 will ship with the aforementioned software. Whether it will be included in the 5822 October Preview has yet to be decided.

New OS/RX Tools

Starting with OS/RX 28 a new collection of tools and software will be added to the operating system. A more complete list of the applications is available under the "Software" page, but the first to be added in the October Preview is the streamlined OS/RX Installer. Currently no manual partitioning is available, but it's planned to be implemented by the November Preview.
