OS/RX's Software

Starting with OS/RX 28 the system will have additional software bundled into all default installations.

Note that all software developed by the OS/RX project is cross-platform and open-source so you can use it on other platforms like Windows or macOS.

OS/RX IronSlug

Typewriter is a minimalist text editor with an UI similar to classic MS Office. Its code is a fork of the now defunct "Mindcell Office" Java application. It supports writing HTML, RTF and TXT while support for ODT and DOC/DOCX is still in the works.

The name "IronSlug" is a combination of "Slug", the part from a typewriter that physically presses the letter into paper, and "Iron", which symbolizes the significant code improvements and technological leaps over the original software, Mindcell Office.

Development Status: Late Beta

OS/RX Graphene

Typewriter is a plotting software capable of drawing multiple overlapping functions in two dimensions. University-level functions for vector fields and plotting in three and four dimensions are currently in development and likely to be added in a later version of Graphene.

Graphene will also have a module system that will allow the use and development of more specialized and complex graphing technology. That, along with Vector fields and 3D/4D plotting will be added in a later version.

OS/RX ThirdEye

ThirdEye is an ease-of-use and accessibility software designed to act as a magnifying glass that goes from 1.5x all the way up to 12x. Unlike most magnifying glass applications, ThirdEye runs in a separate window to separate any mouse actions from the magnified view.

ThirdEye will also be receiving new features as time goes on, ranging from minor optimization and bugfix updates to major more feature-oriented updates.
